
Technical Information for Theatre Performances
Crew Requirements
Load in
- 1 - 2 people to help off-load the set from the van into the venue. Approx. 10-15 minutes.
- In-Theatre Sound Technician – one (1) for 2 (two) hours
- Lighting Technicians – one (1) for two (2) hours
These times assume the lighting plot is hung and the cues programmed in the board. The actors and SM will put the set together which will take less than 30 minutes.
For show call
- One (1) LX operator, one (1) sound technician for a 50 minute show
We also ask that the sound technician be a “problem solver” in case the SM falls into trouble during the show. The SM runs the sound.
Strike & Load out
- The actors and SM will take the set apart which will take less than 30 minutes. Load-out help is appreciated.
Staging Requirements
- Load in two (2) to three (3) hours
- Minimum dimensions: 9m wide x 8m deep x 5 m high (27 ft. x 24 ft. x 15 ft)
- Orchestra pit up. We set up as far downstage as possible
- Strike: Thirty (30) minutes maximum
Masking
- Mid or upstage traveler drawn or other black masking required behind set with a minimum 2 m wide (6ft) crossover between our set and your traveler.
Tables and Chairs
Sound Requirements
- Sound position is preferred to be in house and must be operated by our SM
- Two (2) stereo line outs for two (2) minidisk players.
- Two (2) single line outs for two (2) lavaliere microphones (only in very large venues).
- Three (3) clearcom positions: lx board operator, sound board operator and backstage for the actors in case of emergency
We tour with our own mini-disc players (2) and lavaliere microphones (2). We can use the theatre’s MD player but it must have the auto pause feature.
Lighting Requirements
- A lighting plot is available upon request if you have not already received one in your technical package.
Please note that the entire show can also be performed in a warm wash if time or budget does not allow the full plot.
Company Requirements
- There is a cast of two (2) performers and one (1) stage manager
- One dressing rooms for two (2) persons. They should be clean, lit, lockable and ready for the performers upon their arrival. The performers also need washrooms easily accessible to the stage.
