Izzy Bull Bear Sqeweqs/Raven

Issiah is excited to be taking part of TH’WOXIYA with Axis Theatre. They are originally from Treaty 7 territory, Mohkinstsis (Calgary, Alberta) belonging to the Siksika Nation. They’re also a Studio 58 Graduate, with credits including: TomorrowLove, Cerulean Blue, EVERYBODY, The Rocky Horror Show, and their play Old Man Little Man. Since graduating they have had the pleasure of working on a couple of projects which include, a tour of The Mixolydian, with Green Thumb Theatre, a tour of Where Have All the Buffalo Gone?, with Axis Theatre and the world premier of Echoes of the Homesick Heart, with Western Canada Theatre

 

Cassandra Bouchier Ka’wa’etl/Mouse

Cassandra Bourchier has a BFA in Theatre, with a focus on Acting and Visual Arts from UBC. In her free time, you can find her playing sports, making music, or watching shows with friends. Select theatre credits: Where Have All the Buffalo Gone? (Axis Theatre Company), Quelqu’un T’aime, M. Hatch (Axis Theatre Company), Hedda Gabler (True Pulse Productions), Lion in the Streets, Much Ado About Nothing, The Crucible (UBC Theatre and Film). Cassandra is grateful to live, work and play on the lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.

 

Kassandra Sison Sasquets/Sasquatch

Kassandra is a Métis/Ukrainian actor from Winnipeg, Manitoba — Treaty 1 Territory and the homeland of the Red River Métis — currently based on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. She is deeply honoured to join the team bringing this beautiful script to life.

Previous credits include Axis Theatre’s Where Have All the Buffalo Gone?, Damion LeClair’s ROUGAROU, Pivot Theatre’s Moonglow (2024 Theatre BC Mainstage Award for Best Supporting Actress), Doin’ Time at  the Alamo and Aboveboard (North Van Community Players), and Five Alarm (Deep Cove Stage Society).

 

Frankie Cottrell Sp:ath/Bear

Frankie is a Multidisciplinary Indigenous artist from the Tahltan Nation and his ancestral name is Wākin’ādā which means “walks on the clouds”. He grew up tap dancing at the Gibsons Dance Centre in Gibsons, BC. He is a graduate of the Musical Theatre Program at Capilano University.

 Select credits include: The Million Dollar Quartet (CTF, Theatre Northwest, Persephone Theatre, Charlottetown Festival), The Ring of Fire (Arts Club,TNW), Beautiful: the Carole King Musical, and Mamma Mia (Arts Club), The Fiancée (CTF), Shrek the musical, and Grease! (Western Canada Theatre)

Frankie also performs original music as a solo artist and for his band When They Rise!

This is his first time with Axis Theatre and he's excited for this exciting journey!

 

Jenna Bearuregard Sp:ath/Bear

Jenna is an emerging Métis performer, who just recently graduated from Capilano University's Musical Theatre program! Select credits include: The Jabberwocky - Alice by Heart (CapU Theatre); Blanket Person/Ensemble - RENT (Metro Theatre); Pearl Krabs/Vocal Captain - The Spongebob Musical (FVGSS); and The Witch - Into the Woods (Raincoast) Jenna hopes everyone follows their creativity to see where it takes them.

 

Margo Kane Voice of Th’owxiya

Cree-Saulteaux performing artist, Margo Kane is the Founder and Artistic Managing Director of Full Circle: First Nations Performance. For over 45 years she has been active as an actor, performing artist and community cultural worker. Her desire to share artistic performance that has meaning for her people is the catalyst for her extensive work, travels and consultation within Indigenous communities across Canada and abroad. Moonlodge, her acclaimed one-woman show, an Indigenous Canadian classic, toured for over 10 years nationally and internationally. The Sydney Press (AU) during The Festival of the Dreaming praised it as being ‘in the top echelon of solo performance.’ She developed and runs the annual Talking Stick Festival celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year and numerous programs including Moccasin Trek: Arts on the Move!, Indian Acts and an Indigenous Ensemble Performing Arts Program in Vancouver. 


She has received numerous awards and honors including an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of the Fraser Valley, the Order of Canada from the Governor-General, an International Citation of Merit from ISPA– International Society for the Performing Arts and most recently, an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from SFU– Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

 

Dek Green Stage Manager

Dek is a settler twice-over, originally born and raised in the stolen lands of the Ani’yunwiya/Cherokee people and grateful to now reside in the lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. 

She works as a theatre artist, technician, and stage manager working to create art anywhere there’s a stage. 

Recent credits include stage management on Pippin, Into the Woods (Play On Words), RENT, Joseph, Sinners  (Metro Theatre), Every Day She Rose (ZeeZee/The Cultch), The Woman in Black (Classical Act Collective), and Fates Festival 2024 (Promethean Theatre).

Next projects include MIA (2026 Vancouver Fringe - Coyote Pact) and Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Autumn 2026 - ZeeZee)
