“Th'owxiya” Wins Jessie for Outstanding Production - TYA

What a year we’ve had, eh? Throughout the pandemic we’ve been a bit quiet on the blog. There hasn’t been much to say that hasn’t already been said. Vancouver has entered Phase 3, and it feels like normal, almost. Perhaps the normal we are feeling is just a new normal, a new standard?

Although we had to cancel the rest of our 2019-2020 season we have not let our spirits fall. We started a new playwriting contest for youth, hosted General Auditions, Th’owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish was still shown in online classrooms and was nominated four times for the 2019-2020 Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards. Th’owxiya went on to win Outstanding Production - Theatre for Young Audiences and we could not be more proud.

The group of people working on this show is truly special and it shows in their storytelling. Joseph’s writing with the talent this group has makes for an experience that has you leave feeling good. We are so blessed to have been recognized in this way and to call these folks our friends.

Th’owxiya will be back soon, we promise.
