Oliver Castillo The Boy/Trash Collector

Since his professional debut in 2015, Oliver has worked in the community with companies such as Arts Club,  Gateway Theatre, Carousel Theatre, and Chemainus Theatre Festival to name a few. He has gone on to win a Jessie Richardson award for his role in Raincity Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd, and has also been nominated previously for his role in The Arts Club’s Hand To God. Oliver recently returned from working with Disney Cruise Lines as a Mainstage Performer and was last seen in Raincity Theatre’s production of Cabaret. Jyla Robinson Frog Belly Rat Bone/Trash Collector

Axis Debut. Jyla Robinson is a multi-award winning actor, dancer, choreographer, and dance educator whose work has brought her across the world including work on Norwegian Cruise Lines and performing at the Winter Olympic Closing Ceremonies in Torino, Italy with Avril Lavigne. Select theatre credits include: Peter Pan & 42nd Street (RCMT), Thoroughly Modern Millie, South Pacific (TUTS), Godspell (URP), and most recently Nostradamus in Something Rotten! (TUTS) where she was nominated for outstanding supporting performance. TV & Film: The Goodbye Girl, Life As We Know It with Kelly Osborne, Nickelodeon’s TV movie Spectacular with Victoria Justice and dancing on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Zoeys Extraordinary Christmas Movie. In addition to performing, Jyla is the proud studio owner and director of Studio West Dance (Ladner, BC) where she inspires the next generation with the knowledge and training to become exceptional dancers and people. Jyla believes in leading by example and creating safe and equitable spaces for every student. Enjoy the show!

 

Tom Picket Voice of The Narrator (voice-over)

Tom Picket has appeared in numerous Vancouver theatre productions and made his seventh season appearance at Bard on the Beach in Harlem Duet, by D’janet Sears. Tom will return to Bard this season as the King of France in Henry V in The Douglas Campbell Theatre tent on the Howard Family Stage. His recent film/tv credits include Christmas Time Is Here for GAC Family, Director Christie Will Wolf and a recurring role in Fire Country as Charlie (CBS).Tom hails from Berkeley, California and now resides in Tsawwassen, BC.

 

Elyse Wall Stage Manager

Elyse is a local theatre artist and stage manager. She holds a diploma in Technical Theatre from Capilano University and a BFA in Production and Design from UBC. A trained dancer, Elyse loves to combine her passion for movement exploration with her work in theatre and is excited to discover Cementland with Axis Theatre! Select credits include Me Love Bingo!: Best In Snow! (The Arts Club), HMS Pinafore and The Pearl Fishers (The Vancouver Opera), Machinal (UBC Theatre), A Chorus Line and 9-5: The Musical (CapU Theatre), It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Arbutus Studio).
